You are getting married in the Seattle or Puget Sound area!
Here is a quick ‘list’ of things to do and consider as you plan things out – whether you are hosting a large formal affair, something in-between, or an elopement (i.e., guest list of 6 or under).
- Getting married in the Spring, Summer and Fall in Seattle means more $$. Consider getting married in the off season – i.e., anytime from November to early March. You will have more options for venues/locations and vendors, better pricing, and you avoid the ‘busy season.’
- Remember this is about you. Yes, it is also about your community – i.e., family and friends. And at the end of the day, create a wedding day that honors and expresses your values, beliefs, wants and needs – this is only a day. It’s a huge day and what you create on this day sets a tone for your marriage…which lasts a lifetime.
- Go modern! Wedding ceremony and party/reception ‘rituals’ are all optional. You decide what works, what doesn’t – what expresses your love and relationship and what doesn’t.
- Professional photos. Find a wonderful photographer to capture your wedding day moments. You will never regret the $$$ you spend on this.
- Love each other. Love each other. Grow individually, grow as a couple. Remember that you will have a number of marriages within your marriage.
