So Seattle Wedding Weird, So Wedding Covid-19 Crazy. Getting Beyond a Wedding Postponement or Cancellation…

I’ve spent a lot of my time, over the past 4 months, working with couples to postpone their weddings to 2021.  I’ve also had a front seat to wedding date cancellations, helping couples navigate profound disappointment.

There is no right or wrong here.

From where I sit, working with dozens of couples around all of this, there is enormous disappointment, conflict, indecision, and uncertainty.  How could there not be? AND there is happiness, perseverance, stamina, endurance and the knowing ‘this too shall pass,’ whenever that may be.

Some of my couples who are postponing their formal wedding ceremony and celebration into 2021, are opting to get legally married this summer.  I married a most beautiful couple at their home on Saturday afternoon, with their 2 sweet pups and a few family members.  And I will be with them next August when they welcome their family and friends to their formal wedding day.

Some couples are pushing everything into 2021, ‘riding the wave,’ keeping hope alive for what they want and desire for their wedding day.  And some couples are ‘stuck,’ deeply affected by the loss of deposits and money spent, trying to figure out next steps.

If you desire to get married this summer, do it.  Depending on the Phase of your County, you can plan something sweet and simple.

Onward we all go!
